Plans provide for the transformation of Georgi Asparuhov Stadium into a multi-purpose sports venue intended to meet UEFA Category 4 requirements. The announced capacity is 24,718 seats for domestic league matches and 23,032 seats for UEFA events. A concert configuration will allow the stadium to accommodate up to 40,000 visitors.
The announced investment is EUR 120 million. Construction is planned to begin in spring 2027, while the wider scope also includes improvements to the surrounding park environment and public spaces.
