IPA - Architecture and more has fully integrated BIM standards thanks to our professional and innovative BIM team. As a BIM Coordinator, you will ensure that the company BIM standards and BIM processes are effectively implemented, managed, and optimized to support project goals and objectives.
THE FOCUS OF THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Identifying unique project requirements and defining project-specific objectives for effective BIM utilization;
- Establishing the BIM strategy for organizing and structuring project files in alignment with project goals
- Setting up project files in line with the defined BIM strategy;
- Maintaining BIM models in compliance with company and project-specific standards;
- Managing BIM model quality to enable a streamlined and effective workflow;
- Identifying and resolving model-related issues in a timely and effective manner;
- Performing interdisciplinary model coordination to identify and resolve clashes and conflicts
- Contributing BIM expertise during design reviews and collaborative project meetings;
- Offering support and guidance to MEP team members on BIM-related challenges;
- Creating and maintaining parametric MEP Revit families and contributing to the ongoing development of the company libraries;
- Developing company MEP templates, BIM standards and BIM documentation;
- Working closely with MEP teams to support the adoption, refinement, and optimization of BIM workflows across the organization;
- Creating and delivering training programs to enhance team members’ BIM knowledge and capabilities;
- Monitoring industry trends to ensure company BIM practices remain aligned with evolving standards and best practices;
- Evaluating and recommending new BIM tools to advance technological capabilities and support continuous improvement;
- Assisting with the implementation of automation tools to improve BIM efficiency;
- Documenting lessons learned and BIM best practices for continuous process refinement.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with hands-on experience in MEP systems, and a thorough understanding of discipline-specific BIM workflows;
- Experience working with Workshared models and managing collaborative project environments;
- Proficient in setting up and managing project coordinates, view templates, filters, design options, phases, worksets, object styles, and other core project settings;
- Experience in developing, modifying, and managing parametric Revit families;
- Knowledge of Navisworks Manage for model coordination and clash detection;
- Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks and problem-solving
- Clear and effective communication skills;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines in a dynamic project setting.
WILL BE CONSIDERED ADVANTAGE IF YOU HAVE:
- MEP engineering background (mechanical, electrical, or plumbing) to align discipline-specific needs with BIM coordination efforts;
- Basic knowledge of automation tools such as Dynamo and Dynamo Player for BIM optimization;
- Experience developing and implementing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and project-specific BIM standards;
- Familiarity with design and construction workflows across various project phases.
