Concept Design

What does concept design include?

Concept design is a key stage in the development of every investment intent and a foundation for subsequent architectural design. It translates the project brief into a creative and professional proposal, defining the project identity, functional layout, spatial organization, design direction and relationship with its context.

At IPA - Architecture and more, we follow a structured creative process that includes detailed analysis of the site, project brief, regulatory requirements, investor objectives and development potential of the property. Based on this analysis, we generate ideas, evaluate different design scenarios, present conceptual solutions and discuss them with the client in order to define the most appropriate direction for the project.

We typically develop one main architectural concept and several supporting concept design options. This makes it possible to compare different approaches to vision, function, access, scale, spatial organization and the relationship between the future building, its users and the surrounding urban environment. As a result, the project can be adapted more precisely to the investor’s goals, budget and long-term vision.

For optimal results, several architectural teams may work in parallel on different concept variations for the same project. This approach provides a broader perspective, deeper exploration of the project potential and a more informed selection of the preferred solution before moving into the next stages of design.

The goal of concept design is to achieve the best balance between vision, functionality, technical logic, sustainability and practical feasibility. A well-developed architectural concept supports informed investment decisions and can serve as a basis for preliminary project studies and technical analyses, engineering coordination and further project development. It also contributes to the creation of a coherent, visually harmonious and sustainable built environment.
