FANTASTICO GROUP expanded its logistics center near Elin Pelin with an investment of BGN 36 million. Covering approximately 36,000 sq m, the facility plays a strategic role in the company's development. The expansion optimizes supply operations and supports the retail chain's growth into new markets.
The logistics center includes new warehouse areas for products requiring temperature-controlled storage. Each zone is tailored to the specific requirements of its product category, providing the conditions needed to preserve freshness. The storage areas operate across six temperature regimes ranging from +12 °C to -24 °C.
The expansion includes 78 hydraulic loading docks, while handling capacity reaches 150-200 tons of goods per day. The organization of the logistics process reduces the time between orders and deliveries to the company's supermarkets and helps reduce the number of delivery vehicles entering urban areas.
The building is equipped with a Building Management System (BMS) that monitors and manages the building systems. As part of the project's sustainable design approach, the refrigeration system recovers waste heat, while a 980 kWp photovoltaic installation generates renewable electricity for on-site use. The industrial refrigeration system was designed by Eckert & Partners and implemented by GEA Refrigeration.
The expansion of the logistics facility was designed by IPA - Architecture and more and constructed by Barage Group.
Update: In December 2024, the project received First Prize in the Logistics Buildings category at Bulgaria's Building of the Year 2024 awards.
