About the project

“There are cars, and then there is Mercedes.” A truth that has been universally understood for over a century - often shared with a touch of humor, if only to spare the competition. Our partnership with Silver Star, the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Bulgaria, is a natural alliance between leaders in their fields, resulting in the creation of a state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz facility in Sofia.

With clean lines and a classic black-and-white palette inspired by the brand’s global standards, we gave the building an elegance worthy of the vehicles bearing the iconic three-pointed star. And that star takes its rightful place on the main facade - standing proudly like a seal of excellence, while giving the complex its unmistakable identity.

The complex designed by IPA – Architecture and more consists of several buildings, with the showroom as its centerpiece. The showroom provides a stage for presenting the models available for sale. Visitors can admire the displayed vehicles “as if on a magazine cover” even before entering the building. Three of the showroom’s walls are full-height glass facades, offering transparency, airiness, and unobstructed views. Customers access the spacious hall through an extended, dedicated entrance.

Equal attention was given to the buildings housing the detailing center and the service areas for buses, passenger cars, and commercial vehicles. The facilities include a paint shop, a spare parts warehouse, an auto parts retail area, a training center, and a car wash. Each space is designed for easy access, intuitive workflow, and maximum interior comfort - ensuring fast, reliable, and high-quality service.

For service clients, the complex features a comfortable reception lounge where they can wait in a pleasant environment while their vehicle is being serviced.

The team of IPA – Architecture and more also ensured that the staff working in the complex have optimally comfortable and functional spaces. Above the service area, we designed changing rooms, a small café and canteen, spaces for meetings and briefings, and relaxation areas. A movable partition wall allows the space to be reconfigured as needed.

The Sofia development is the fourth Mercedes-Benz complex in Bulgaria, following successful projects in Varna, Plovdiv, and Burgas. The capital’s facility spans more than 40,000 sq.m in the industrial zone of the Kremikovtsi district.

Though it is the fourth of its kind, it incorporates a national first: Bulgaria’s first-ever “GP-style” diagnostics lobby for vehicles. In a fully enclosed service bay, clients park their cars while consultants perform an initial inspection - assessing the condition and planning the required procedures for comprehensive maintenance.
