A1 Motor Park near Samokov is a completed complex for car and motorcycle racing, training, testing, and events. The racing circuit is approximately 4 km long and is homologated to FIA Grade 3 and FIM Grade B. The project forms part of the IPA - Architecture and more portfolio of sports facilities.
The project was completed in approximately eight months with the involvement of Bulgarian specialists and international consultants. The circuit was developed by Driven, specialists in racing circuit design, while the architectural design was developed by IPA - Architecture and more.
A1 Motor Park is Bulgaria's first FIA-homologated racing circuit. Its FIA Grade 3 classification allows it to accommodate national and international car racing within the relevant categories, while FIM Grade B homologation enables the circuit to support motorcycle racing disciplines.
The circuit includes 15 turns, eight left and seven right, and a start-finish straight of more than 900 m. It offers 21 different configurations that can be adapted for racing, training, testing, and driver education. The combination of fast straights, technical corners, and elevation changes provides varied conditions for both car and motorcycle disciplines.
The circuit uses specialized racing asphalt based on a mix developed with the support of Italian experts. The engineering design includes drainage systems, safety zones, and protective barriers developed in accordance with the requirements for car and motorcycle racing.
The complex includes a pit lane, garages, team service areas, race control, a medical center, VIP and hospitality spaces, a restaurant, café, shop, spectator areas, and supporting infrastructure. The functional organization separates racing, technical, service, and spectator areas and provides the facilities required for different motorsport event formats.
A1 Motor Park provides professional infrastructure for racing, training, testing, and driver development in Bulgaria. The different circuit configurations and supporting functional areas allow the complex to accommodate organized competitions as well as training sessions and specialized events.
The complex is located near Samokov and the village of Dospey, approximately 12 km from Borovets. Its proximity to Sofia and an established tourism destination creates opportunities to combine motorsport events with sports, event, and automotive tourism.
A1 Motor Park officially opened on March 21, 2026. The first lap of the new circuit was driven by Bulgarian racing driver Nikola Tsolov. With the completion of the complex, Bulgaria gained its first FIA Grade 3 circuit and dedicated infrastructure for international-standard car and motorcycle events.
