Nova Druzhba is a residential complex in Sofia, designed as a contemporary urban environment with functional homes, retail spaces, underground parking and landscaped areas for residents. The project was developed with attention to the urban context, everyday convenience, natural light and the relationship between the buildings, the inner courtyard and the surrounding environment.
The complex is located in the Druzhba district of Sofia, close to Druzhba metro station and Druzhba Lake. The location provides quick access to different parts of the city and combines the advantages of a well-connected urban area with opportunities for recreation and daily activities near green spaces.
The architectural project was developed by IPA - Architecture and more for the investor Green Life. The design brings together residential, retail and service functions in a complex structure focused on comfort, functionality and better use of the urban location.
The buildings are organized in an L-shaped composition with dynamic façades, generous glazing and a clear connection between the interior spaces and the surrounding environment. The architectural expression is contemporary and balanced, combining urban density, natural light, efficient layouts and a sense of openness.
The residential complex includes five residential entrances and a total of 190 housing units with different layouts: from compact studios and one-bedroom apartments to more spacious two-bedroom homes. Some of the ground-floor homes facing the inner courtyard have private garden areas, adding valuable personal outdoor space in an urban setting.
The first above-ground level includes six retail units with individual entrances and direct access from the street. The complex also includes 20 ateliers suitable for different work, creative or service functions, creating a more active and functional environment for residents.
The underground parking is designed with attention to convenience, safety and the natural slope of the terrain. It is organized on two levels and provides 171 parking spaces, including 24 garage units. The project also includes 75 bicycle racks, supporting more sustainable ways of moving through the city.
The project places emphasis on energy efficiency, durable materials and the quality of the residential environment. Effective insulation, high-quality window systems and technical solutions with low heat loss support better living comfort and help reduce operating costs.
The inner courtyard is terraced and richly landscaped to provide space for relaxation, meetings, children’s play and outdoor social activities. The green areas create a softer connection between the buildings and contribute to a sense of calm, comfort and community within the complex.
Nova Druzhba is an example of contemporary residential architecture that combines functional homes, good urban connectivity, landscaped outdoor areas and everyday amenities. The project shows how housing design can create not only buildings, but a complete environment for quality urban living.
