Sunset Garden is a boutique residential building in Sofia designed by IPA - Architecture and more. The project forms part of the studio's work in residential buildings and focuses on efficient use of space, a contemporary architectural identity, and durable material and technological solutions.
With its clean forms, contemporary facades, and compact scale, Sunset Garden creates a transition between low-rise single-family housing and mid-rise multifamily development while responding to the character of southern Sofia and its proximity to Vitosha Mountain.
The architectural design places particular emphasis on the building envelope. The roofs and facades use integrated thermal and waterproofing systems intended to provide long-term performance. Stone cladding is arranged in a varied large-format pattern, with texture and relief reinforcing the clean geometry of the building volumes.
The glass railings use contemporary systems without vertical profiles, while the metal railings at ground level follow a minimal design aligned with the openwork perimeter fence.
The underground parking provides individual garages with dimensions designed for comfortable everyday use.
The residential layouts prioritize generous space, natural light, and efficient organization. Living areas feature extensive glazing running along the length of the room or opening toward two facades. The two-bedroom apartments include a second bathroom, while storage spaces and niches are positioned directly off the entrance areas.
The interior design of the common areas uses marble and limestone, extending the material language of the architecture into the interior and creating a consistent identity throughout the building. The bedrooms have regular geometries and dimensions that accommodate double beds, wardrobes, additional furniture, and work areas.
Sunset Garden combines the compact scale of a residential building with a clear material identity, functional living spaces, and an architectural language shaped in response to its surrounding context.
